When a national retailer wanted to leverage out of home’s impact to drive store visitation in a major market, they turned to OUTFRONT.

OUTFRONT proposed a two-pronged media plan combining billboards and mobile ads. We leveraged audience insights from smartSCOUT™, our proprietary platform, to identify and select the available billboards that indexed highest for their audience.
We used mobile ads to retarget those exposed to the billboards, the retailer’s loyal customers (those who visited within two months), and those who visit their competitors. We analyzed anonymized device IDs to determine whether those who were exposed to the OOH campaign and/or mobile ads subsequently visited one of the retailer’s locations.
The campaign delivered a 7% visitation rate overall. Combining OOH and mobile drove a visitation rate 14% higher than OOH exposure alone, and more than 3X mobile alone.
