2014 Apex Awards Announced at Digital Signage Expo
CBS Outdoor Receives Silver Award for Penn Station/LIRR Digital Network
On February 12th, CBS Outdoor received the Silver Apex Award in the Transportation Category for the development and deployment of New York's Penn Station/LIRR Digital Network. The APEX awards are given as part of Digital Signage Expo at The DSE Apex and Content Awards Dinner in Las Vegas and recognizes "the execution of an exceptional digital signage technology installation."
Located in the busiest transportation hub in the U.S., the Penn/LIRR Digital Network impacts over 17 million passengers every month with strategically placed signage around key areas, such as ticketing booths and information screens. The multiple screen network also provides up-to-the-minute track departure information and service/emergency alerts.
Nominated by Manufacturing Resources International (MRI), the award marks the second consecutive year that CBS Outdoor has been recognized for its achievements in the digital out of home space. In 2013, New York's Digital Urban Panel Network was the recipient of a Gold Apex Award.
